Winter resorts
Bulgaria is a mountainous country. Approximately half of its territory is occupied by mountainous formations various in their area, height, nature and origin. All of them are a ring of the powerful range of the Alpine - Himalayan Massif comprising a multitude of mountainous systems on the two continents - Europe and Asia. They are precondition for winter and ski tourism in Bulgaria.
During the past few years the Bulgarian ski resorts went through fast development and modernization and are now offering high class service.
Some of the most famous ski resorts are: Borovets, Pamporovo, Bansko, Chepelare, Vitosha, etc.

Borovets
Its altitude above sea level is from 1230 to 1390 m and its climate is
one of the healthiest. It is pleasantly cool here in summer (the
average July temperature is 15.2°Ñ), and the winter is mild and snowy
(the average January temperature being 4.8°Ñ).
Borovets is connected to Samokov (12 km), Sofia (72 km), Kostenets

Bansko
Bansko is Bulgaria's ski resort, having the best and most modern ski
centre of all Bulgarian ski resorts. During the recent years a
multi-million euros investment in a brand new skiing area has been made
by Yulen, the company which has the licence to run the skiing area of
the resort. Bansko has the best snow record and the longest ski season
(15 Dec - 15 May) of all Bulgarian ski resorts....more !
Pamporovo
Pamporovo is located 1650 m above sea level in the Perelik range
(Bukova Planina) of the Western Rhodopes in one of the most beautiful
places of the Orpheus mountain. The specific combination of natural
conditions makes the resort beautiful in summer and in winter alike -

Dobrinishte
Dobrinishte is a small town and ski resort in the Blagoevgrad Province, southwestern Bulgaria. As of 2006[update] it has 2973 inhabitants. It is located 6 km east of Bansko, a famous winter resort. Malyovitsa
Malyovitsa is a smaller resort than Borovets but there is no other
resort not only in the Rila Mountain but also in the whole Bulgaria,
which can compare with its beauty and grandeur. It is situated within
the Malyovitsa sub-part of North-Western Rila, at about 1700 metres
above sea level. An asphalt road connects it to the village of
Govedartsi (13 km) and to the town of Samokov (27 km)....more !
Chepelare
The town of Chepelare (6067 inhabitants, 1100 m above sea level) is
situated in the heart of the Rhodope mountain, in a small valley, along
the two banks of Chepelarska river.
It is 222 km from Sofia, 72 km from Plovdiv, 53 km from Assenovgrad, 30 km from Smolyan and about 10 km from Pamporovo resort.

Uzana
Uzana resort is a real discovery. Right at the feet of the Ispolin
